Dear Parents,
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas break filled with meaningful time as a family. We have missed you and are looking forward to the second half of the school year.
With the Omicron variant spreading rapidly in California, please rest assured we are monitoring the situation closely. As always, we will follow the guidelines of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and our county health department. The SECC Office of Education is also in contact with experts from Loma Linda University Health.
We have been working closely with SECC and are committed to providing in-person instruction as much as we can safely do so. In order to keep SACS students and their families safe, on Monday we will be reinstating temperature checks as students arrive at school. We want to stress the importance of keeping your children home:
- If they should exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19. Please keep them home and have them tested. Omicron symptoms often appear to be the common cold and are disregarded.
- If your child is unvaccinated and has been exposed to someone who has tested positive. They also need to stay home for a period of time.
We will always inform you as soon as possible of changes to our normal school program. Unfortunately, sometimes test results are received in the middle of the night or middle of the school day. We hope you understand the challenges we are facing and ask for your patience and flexibility.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in us to educate your child while keeping them safe. Please join us in prayer for wisdom as we continue to navigate the challenges we are facing.
Blessings!
Karen Dunbar, Principal
PS. Please send a large pack of disposable masks that fit your child to be kept in the classroom.
